ETNO's lunch seminar in Brussels on February 8 on "How to boost investment in next generation access networks: The impact of regulated prices on investments" attracted more than 100 representatives from the EU insitutions, national regulators, industry and the investors' community.

Building on the recent Commission consultation on costing methodologies and latest research carried out on the topic, the workshop aimed at stimulating a debate between academics, key investors and decision makers on the impact of changes to price regulation and in particular of the recent debate on costing methodologies on Europe's Digital Agenda targets for NGA deployment.

It consisted of a presentation of a recent report for ETNO by Brian Williamson of Plum on the impact of options presented in the Commission consultation on costing methodologies. It was followed by a panel with academics, investors and decision makers on the broader impact of regulation on investments and how to accelerate NGA deployment.
