FT Connect Europe Forum 2026
Are new EU tech policies improving competitive growth?
Pressure is mounting for Europe to accelerate innovation
Europe’s connectivity sector is at a defining moment, shaped by global disruption and intensifying competition. Pressure is mounting to accelerate innovation, strengthen security and drive growth, and frustration persists over regulatory bottlenecks. There are renewed calls to improve single market integration and provide support in reducing Europe’s dependencies. Against this backdrop, the European Commission is reshaping the digital rulebook to meet rising investment demands while underpinning digital sovereignty. The much-anticipated revisions to the Digital Networks Act and Cybersecurity Act are under close scrutiny and negotiation, alongside updated EU merger guidelines that could redefine the competitive landscape.
The FT Connect Europe Forum, hosted by the Financial Times in partnership with Connect Europe, will once again bring together industry CEOs, policymakers, investors, innovators, NGOs and civil society. Together they will explore how Europe’s connectivity sector can stimulate investment, strengthen infrastructure and deliver competitive and secure digital services.
