Technology Policy Institute Aspen Forum

The TPI Aspen Forum brings together leaders from business, government, and academia to discuss key public policy issues affecting information and communications technology.  This year's theme is, "Creative Destruction and Growth: Policy Choices."

A preview agenda is now available for the 2013 Technology Policy Institute Aspen Forum, scheduled for August 18 - 20. 

The 2013 Forum will include panel discussions and workshops on such topics as:

• Deconstructing Creative Destruction
• Competition, Regulation and the Evolution of Internet Business Models
• Privacy, Data Security and Trade:  Policy Choices
• Will the FCC's Spectrum Incentive Auctions Succeed?

• Patents and IT:  What Needs Fixing?
• Copyright and the Digital Economy
• Freeing Government Spectrum: Is it Possible?
  

The IT revolution has been the poster child for Schumpeterian creative destruction, yielding innovations whose effects on our lives extend far beyond statistics on R&D spending imply.  From infrastructure to applications, experimentation with technologies and business models has been essential to the success of the Internet economy.  A policy environment that permits such experimentation is crucial for this era's creative destruction to continue.  Discussion panels and speakers at the 2013 TPI Aspen Forum will focus on competition, privacy, data security, and other regulatory policies critical to the health of Internet economy.
