Brussels, 15 July 2025 – As Europe accelerates its path toward full gigabit connectivity, digital resilience, and secure infrastructure, Connect Europe is proud to announce the expansion of its membership with the inclusion of Ukrtelecom, the national telecom operator of Ukraine, effective July 1st, 2025.

Ukrtelecom joins Connect Europe as a Full Member, following endorsement by the General Assembly of the association representing the leading providers of connectivity networks and services in Europe. This development marks a symbolic and strategic step forward in reinforcing the association’s commitment to a broader and more inclusive digital Europe, with countries sharing the values of openness, resilience, and technological progress.

Ukrtelecom is Ukraine’s largest fixed broadband operator, with a crucial role in providing essential connectivity to homes, businesses, and institutions in the country. The company’s fiber-optic network covers more than 3 mln homes in more than 2k localities across Ukraine. The company has shown remarkable strength and adaptability by continuing to operate and invest in digital infrastructure despite facing unprecedented challenges. As Ukraine advances its digital transformation, Ukrtelecom brings to the Connect Europe community invaluable expertise in safeguarding networks during full-scale war, securing essential services, and contributing to the socio-economic recovery of a nation.

With this latest addition, Connect Europe grows its membership to 43 organisations, further strengthening the association’s role as a platform for collaboration on tech & telecom policy, investment, innovation, competitiveness, and digital inclusion across the continent and beyond.
