European Affairs Advisor

Profile:

We are looking for a European affairs advisor to work in our policy team on institutional engagement and stakeholder outreach. The new policy advisor should have 5 years of experience in successfully engaging with the EU institutions and the digital stakeholder community in Brussels. We are looking for an individual, who is a team player, self-starter and enjoys meeting people and creating communities.

Main Tasks:

  • Create and maintain a rolling EU stakeholder engagement plan in cooperation with the policy team.

  • Engage with policymakers and other key stakeholders with a focus on the European Parliament as well as on Member State representations in Brussels.

  • Support the DG and the leadership team in their high-level outreach.

  • Draft policy papers and other materials, as required, to use in outreach activities.

  • Align and coordinate these activities within the association and with member companies. 

Skillset & Competencies:

  • Demonstrable experience in Brussels-based policy advocacy, ideally in the digital or a closely related sector. Previous experience with the European Parliament or other EU institutions is a plus.

  • Interest in and a good understanding of the tech & policy drivers impacting the European connectivity industry.

  • Strong collaborative and diplomatic skills, and ability to negotiate and reach a consensus.

  • Inclusive, organised and result-driven way of working.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • English fluency in speaking and writing is a must; very good knowledge of another European language is an asset.
