BRUSSELS – Serafino Abate joined the ETNO team as the new Regulatory Affairs Manager from Ofcom, the UK regulator. He will coordinate the work of ETNO and present the association’s position in areas such as economic regulation, spectrum, external trade, research and innovation, as well as tax issues.

Swisscom releases the first interactive building automation system – Quing Home

Swisscom has just launched the Quing Home building automation system. It is the first offering in Switzerland to combine building automation, security and energy management in one package. Regardless of their location, customers can use an app or go online to control their electrical devices and energy consumption and keep an eye on their homes using sensors and cameras. Quing Home comprises a starter kit and a subscription. The system can also be expanded with additional devices and sensors.

Investigation by the Competition Authorities

The EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA) and the Norwegian Competition Authority have today initiated an investigation against Telenor Norge AS and Telenor ASA regarding possible abuse of dominant market position and/or possible anti-competitive practices.The investigation is carried out pursuant to Articles 53 and 54 of the EEA Agreement and comprises mobile communication services at wholesale and retail level in Norway, including voice, SMS, MMS and data, as well as mobile services sold in bundles that include other products/services.
