Annual Report 2005 - The Year of convergence

Throughout the year, ETNO has continued to closely monitor the implementation of the regulatory framework. ETNO brought together Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of 16 companies from new and future member states for meetings with Mrs Viviane Reding, Commissioner for Information Society and Media and Mrs Danuta Hübner, Commissioner for Regional Policy.

ETNO supports the adoption of the â€œdraft ECC Decision on harmonised utilisation of spectrum for IMT-2000/UMTS systems operating within the band 2500 - 2690 MHzâ€ as it provides confidence for manufacturers and operators to make the necessary investments and also strengthens the CEPT position on WRC-2007 agenda item 1.9 regarding the protection of terrestrial services against harmful interference from satellite operations outside Europe.Read more
